Please accept my heartfelt condolences. It is always painful to lose a loved one. I too have lost many dear ones to death. In the Lord’s prayer. Jesus says at Matthew chapter 6, verse 10: ‘Let your kingdom come. Let your will take place, as in heaven, also on earth.’ I find this comforting because nowhere in the Bible is sickness or death mentioned as occurring in heaven; hence, I look forward to seeing God’s will for the earth to be carried out just as it is in heaven. My understanding Almighty God Jehovah's purpose for the earth- (Psalm 115:16; Psalm 37:29), along with Jesus’ words at John 5:28, 29 about a resurrection, and  Luke 23:43 regarding Paradise all have helped me to cope. I sincerely hope that these Scriptures and words serve as some comfort to you at this time. For further Scriptural encouragement visit jw.org

To the Family of Paul Carney, Sr. -- I regret not being able to make the services today to give my respects to a dear McKinley High School classmate, Class of 1974. Paul was a great guy in high school. He had a wonderful sense of humor and always had a smile on his face. In later years, Paul was a professional painter and was always seen dressed in "all white". While he has crossed over, Paul has left his artistry in the homes and businesses that he transformed into masterpieces. I am not sure how many people knew that Paul was a poet. His written word reflected a faith that we should all emulate. My 90 year old mother, Avis Baker-White, was sadden to learn about Paul's death. Although she is frail and forgetful, she remembers Paul from being in her homeroom class. Her comment to me was "I really liked Paul"...and then she got quiet. There was a period of time when Paul would visit her on a regular basis, and she really enjoyed the attention Paul gave her. My words won't take away the pain for losing a loved one. The thoughts and prayers of the South Baton Rouge community is with you. With heartfelt condolences, Trudy M. White

My sincere condolences to the family for your loss. Death is truly a painful enemy but God promises to eliminate death forever. 1Corinthians 15:26. Isaiah 25:8. We even have the marvelous hope of being reunited with our dear loved ones by means of a resurrection(a standing to life again) Isaiah 26:19. Acts 24:15. Soon, by means of his son Christ Jesus and the heavenly kingdom government all things will be made new;sorrow, pain, suffering and death will be no more." The former things have passed away" Revelation 21:3-5. Then Jesus will make the resurrection hope a reality. John 5:28,29. Whar a grand reunion that will be. May your heart be comforted and your faith strengthened in the secure hope of God's word. Sincerely, C.P.
